  • Make a Committment

    People who have successfully transformed their bodies call it a “lifestyle.” You really have to change your view on what you are going to do every day, we repeat habits daily because we know the long-term payoff, the benefits out-weigh the irritation of having to repeat tasks daily, like brushing your teeth.
     
    The easiest path to change is to make it non-negotiable. You just decide that these new habits are going to take priority over other things, and you change your lifestyle to reflect these new priorities. You are going to have to weigh the pain of staying the same against the pain of change and see if you can convince yourself that the effort is worth it.
     
    My job is to help you see that these changes have REAL benefits in your life, that you can feel great, look great and enjoy life on your terms. Of course you will not be perfect, so get that out of your head, seriously, this is not about perfection. This is about decision, loving yourself enough to become a priority to YOU!
    You will never regret working to make yourself better, I’m here because you needed to hear these words from someone who has been there- you deserve better, you deserve to live your best life. You deserve to treat yourself better, because if you can’t do it, who will?
    Whoever has mistreated you, abused you, hurt you, ignored you, forgive them and move on. Forgiveness will give you your life back, your strength back and stop your victim mentality.
    Forgiveness is NOT FOR THEM, ITS FOR YOU. It does not make what they did ok, it makes it ok for you to live your life.
     
    You have to decide you are worth more, before you can get more, decide that you want to change, that it is a done deal, that you are going to change some priorities, ask the Universe, God or Your Higher Self for help, knowledge and strength if you want to. Don’t put this responsibility on to someone else, a partner, family member, lover, child or anyone else, this is your decision and only you can change.
    To get a little "woo" on you, the full moon and Spring equinox are coming up, the moon signals a time to let go, move on and let new doors open, the equinox is a time of rebalancing. The start of Spring, all things begin anew, equal and balanced again. Whatever storm you passed through in Winter, you can now know that universal forces will rebalance injustices, repurpose resources and renew life. It's a great time to commit to yourself.

  • 1st-- YOU REALLY ARE FANTASTIC

    First of all, I believe in you.
    I know you can do ANYTHING. Whatever. The. Hell. You. Want.
    What about you?
    Are you sure? Have you committed to YOU?
    Unless you are ALL IN, part of you is still expecting to fail. So here, let's make a pact together to really commit to ourselves and what we want.
    What do you want? Why do you want it?
    Mostly we want things that we feel will make us "happy" which never really seem to pay off. Have you noticed that external things and even people, never really seem to pay off the way you want them to?
    Happiness is an inside job, happiness is knowing YOU ARE WORTH IT.
    Worth it? Okaaaaayyyy says my inner 12 year old, raised on Loreal commercials and sarcasm...
    But its true, you are worth the time it takes, the money it takes, the attention it takes, the absolute effing and real loyalty, honesty, blood, sweat and tears it takes, the soul baring moment when you say THIS IS NO LONGER ENOUGH, I WANT MY LIFE TO BE THE SHIT!
    Your happiness is worth all of it, BUT ONLY YOU CAN CLAIM IT.
    And I'm not just talking, its my truth, its what was at the end of my rainbow and it is the POT OF GOLD you've been looking for.
    See, I know what its like to struggle, to settle, to wonder.... am I good enough? And to LOOK AND LOOK AND LOOK for the answer... OUT THERE.
    The answer isn't out there.
    As you can tell, I'm PASSIONATE about this topic.
    I'm passionate about YOU finding YOUR BODY, LIFE, SOUL SUCCESS- Whatever that means to you!

  • Easy Healthy Habit: Morning Sunglight Ritual

    If you're like me then your mornings are pretty freaking busy!!!
    Summer is over and back to school craziness is in full effect.  I've been struggling with getting back into waking up at 6am, because I've always naturally been a night owl. I really have always loved staying up late... but I know its not great for me.
    Sigh.
    Tons of studies have shown that supreme health can't happen if we're staying up really late. We get more disease, more obesity and more depression.
    Boo.
    How do we change this bad habit? How do we get supreme health? I really want to know and I really want to achieve it.
    Dr. Jack Krause, a neuro surgeon who has successfully lost over 100 pounds and completely changed his own health 100%, is passionate about the fact that we MUST get out into the morning light for at least 10 minutes.
    By doing this we can begin to reset our circadian clock, that is intimately tied to the earth, time and the seasons. When this clock isn't functioning right we can experience suboptimal hormone production because are bodies are confused about what time it is, our brain is basically misfiring.
    Artificial light has a different ratio of blue to red light and it drastically affects our whole body in a dramatic fashion. To get away from this artificial effect we need to get outside into the natural light and morning light is especially beneficial because it has the highest amount of red light.
    So its fairly easy to create a nice place to sit outside in the morning and drink your tea or coffee and soak in some rays. In the Winter it gets a bit more challenging, but its VITAL that you get some exposure to Sunlight or a Light box that simulates the Sun, it will revitalize your energy and help your metabolism repair itself.
    The most benefits will come from not wearing sunglasses during the morning Sun exposure and by your eyes absorbing some of the ambient rays. Of course, YOU SHOULD NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN, this can result in blindness.
    You can also combine this ritual with your exercise habit and go outside to walk and connect with nature, or meditate while the Sun is on your face. Light is absorbed by the skin and creates Vitamin D as well.

  • Why You NEED a Gold Star!!

    First of all, congratulations for being here. You rock!
    You are putting yourself first and making sure you are getting what you want,
    that's rare and its awesome!
    Remember less than 2% of people have goals that are written down,
    and they succeed at reaching their goals more than all the rest of the 98% combined!!
    Which are you? Do you have goals for this challenge?
    How will you know if you succeed unless you can measure yourself?
    I want to talk today about the "Clean Plate Club" and how people think about themselves as "good."
    Most likely when you were a little child your parents rewarded you for eating  all your food, you received praise, dessert or just avoided being punished when you at it all!
    You were inducted to the "Clean Plate Club!"
    They actually reinforced an idea in your mind that to please them you had to eat whatever was on your plate.
    But that is not the case any longer!
    Today you get to decide what is good for you!
    That means you don't have to eat everything on your plate, you can save it, you can share it, you can throw it away!
    You get to decide what goes in your body, how much it needs and you can say NO to eating everything!
    One of the best strategies is to begin changing how you see yourself, to redefine what you think of as praise.
    Because we still are conditioned to believe following these old rules is a good thing, our brain still gives us internal praise when we do them!!
    You need to move up the priority of your health and well-being, your weight loss and eating habits. You need to give yourself some rules and some praise when you achieve them!
    It sounds difficult, but it just takes a bit of attention.
    Start with "I drink tea before every meal," and "I eat protein, water, fiber and healthy fat at every meal" and "I eat enough to be satisfied."
    Then praise yourself when you accomplish them, notice when you feel better, you have less bloating, your clothes fit better, or you have more energy. Notice the subtle changes, because that is how these small things become habits, we reinforce them to ourselves.
    You will have to be brave and strong to make changes, if you need to set an alarm on your phone, make a reward chart with old school gold stars or use something you really want to purchase as a goal reaching bribe. Maybe you need to get someone to help you make these changes?
     
    Whatever works for you: DO IT!

  • [NTC] Day 2 Mindset, Diet & Workout plan

    Drink your tea Daily!
    If you are using the 21 day Newport Skinny Tea, you should be drinking your daytime tea 30-60 minutes before your breakfast and lunch! Try to limit coffee to one in the morning before your tea, as it can affect your blood sugar levels and cravings.
    If you are using additional teas, use them when you want to, make sure that you are not having too much caffeine during the day. If you feel shaky or wired, its too much. Remember, you can adjust the strength to suit your individual needs.
    I find it easiest to set the alarm on my phone for my daytime tea. Make sure you drink enough water as well.
    Mindset :Changing limiting beliefs
    This is one of the MOST difficult psychological exercises to do honestly, very few people will take the time to honestly look at what state they are living in daily, if you do it you take the time you will have a key to changing your life.

    Where do you live emotionally on a daily basis? In depression, guilt or sadness? Disappointment? Anger?
     
    First step: You must identify the emotional climate you live in now, what you have come to believe is acceptable for you.
     
    Second step: Identify what is the antidote to this emotional climate?
     
    If you live in fear, courage is the antidote. Right now you are living in an emotional pattern or trying to get to that place that emotionally feels like "home." Whatever you believe is the "right" way to act based on your experience with environmental forces, generally you use that to guide you on a daily basis.
     
    If you are not finding the quality of life you want in the emotional state you live in, you can learn to live in a state that will produce the results you want. It requires figuring out your emotions and really being honest with yourself.
     
    You need to find the antidote to your unwanted state, and then you need to practice your new chosen emotion until you shift into feeling like that desired state is your new normal state. This is the way you create new patterns, this is the way to changing your life.
     
    Emotion is created through motion, remember you are in control of your emotions and motions, the easiest way to change your emotion is to start changing your motions.

    In other words, Just Do It. Do the physical thing to change your state. Give your time to a charity, go for a run, clean out your closet or call up that old friend and ask them to lunch.
    Review your list of goals multiple times daily! Now link the emotional state those goals require you to live in. This isn't easy work, but you can do it! When you identify the state you want to live in, you will see how your current state is holding you hostage!

  • [OTC] Why Beyonce had an Alter Ego and Why You Need One Too!

    My friend and I have a term we coined,  "Ideal Self" for all those things we would do if we lived up to our Pinterest boards, never had to sleep and won the lottery tomorrow... you know, working out in barely there bra tops everyday on the beach at 6am with our hair and makeup looking on point... yeah... enter real life. Having an amazing assistant/housekeeper/personal shopper that organizes our entire life around each season. Or throwing gorgeous dinner parties every other week like we're in the cast of RHOC... including amazing cat fights, designer dresses and someone crying in the limo outside... (but not us!)
     
    Never mind that these events don't happen except on reality TV, this did not stop our constant referencing what ideal self was doing at all times of the day and how we were not living up to that potential.
     
    We thought we were so clever with this made-up term, but its seems someone had already thought of this, Sigmund Freud. So, it turns out its a pretty huge source of dissatisfaction for us humans, that we can't really live up to our version of an "ideal self."
     
    And advertisers know this, they bank on the knowledge that you long to do more, have more and be more at any given moment. AND there's absolutely nothing wrong with growing, but most people get stuck in the thought that they can't possibly have THAT ideal self life, so why bother... back to Pinterest.
     
    So this summer, I learned about a tactic that the elite business people of the world (and apparently Beyoncé) use, its making an ALTER EGO for yourself in order to bypass that "Ideal Self" world conundrum we get stuck in. Our alter ego is part of us, that we don't really accept as our own yet, we fear we cannot become something, yet we long to do it anyway.
    We long for it because...
    Its part of OUR story, its a KEY to our growth, It will CHANGE everything
    and you know it, deep down.
     
    SO big girl pants up, here we go, its time to create an alter ego for yourself.
     
    Beyoncé called her alter ego SASHA FIERCE. And she did things shy Beyoncé couldn't yet do, she was fierce and sexy and she owned her stage. And now Beyoncé doesn't need her anymore, Beyoncé owned that part of herself.
     
    What three words does a FIT, SKINNY, SEXY YOU need to be?
     
    What's your NAME when you embody these words?
     
    What does this alter ego do that's different then you, where does she go and who does she go there with? What does she wear? Maybe you can give her a signature item so when you have this item you instantly transform- what is it?
     
    This seems like a weird idea, until you try it, and then it becomes very liberating, because you don't have to be weighted down with the baggage of your own identity.
    Before you say "That's not me" try it, just try it and see what might happen! I'd love to hear about it!
